WHAT IS GASPARD OIL?
Tired of clinical, rashly autotuned soundscapes?
Sick of the exponential decline of all good things American?
Shocked at the mysterious disappearance of good old groove?
Weary of the world as seen through the eyes of major record companies?
Increasingly worried about the future of music in general?
If Your answer to three or more of these questions was a hearty "yes", You might want to consider trying out the new Finnish rock band called Gaspard Oil. Hailing from right in the middle of Finland, the quintet has its ideological roots in all good music as well as other art forms. The various musical and artistic backgrounds of the band members all boil together in the creative cauldron that is Gaspard Oil, ultimately becoming a form of music which could most accurately be described as good.
The band anchors its lyrical themes around a historical figure, from whom it has also stolen its name. This mystic innovator in early 20th century aviation has given rise to a blooming mythology, faithfully arranged and artistically expanded by Gaspard Oil the band. The romantic aspects of flight and the many tragical love stories surrounding it are deeply rooted in Gaspard Oil's music.
As of 2011, Gaspard Oil consists of the following musicians:
Jemo Kettunen - vocals, acoustic guitar
Ville Koskivaara - vocals, electric guitar
Tuomo Savolainen - piano, synthesizers & electric guitar
Matti Kortet - bass guitar, vocals
Juuso Raatikainen - drums, percussion & backing vocals
But who are these guys anyway?
